Taylor Baumgardner

Taylor Baumgardner was a member of the girls varsity golf team and was a team captain this past fall.

How did the team do this season?

“For a lot of years, we had solid key players that kept our scored low: Mandy Ehrlich, Ally Ringler, and Kayley Reynolds. This was our first year without any of these girls. We couldn’t really live up to that. Unfortunately, there were no states for us this year, but I would say it was alright overall.”

How could you have done better this season?

“I definitely thought going into it all that I was going to be shooting a lot lower than I did; I wish I had maintained the game I had over the summer throughout the season. As a captain, I could have maybe had a better attitude at times, but I usually kept that in check.”

What did you enjoy most about being a captain?

“I loved being a leader and encouraging the younger girls, as they’re going to be the next captains. Being able to set the tone for work ethic helped us make a lot of progress.”

What’s one thing you would tell the younger players here at FHC?

“I would say to make the best of it. Try and have fun. It all comes and goes by so quickly, and you will definitely miss it.”

What is the most memorable part of the season?

“Spending my last season with some of my best friends.”

Do you plan on continuing golf in some way in the future?

“I will definitely continue to play the sport for fun, not competitively, but I really appreciate everything this sport has brought me, and I look forward to improving my game for the years to come.”

If you could describe your season in a couple of words what would they be?

“Already missed.”
