FHC Inspires Q&As: Daniel Wang

Speaker: Daniel Wang

How do you feel about your TED Talk being picked for FHC Inspires?

“Honored, but nervous–I mostly slid my way into this program with my friends, so I feel great.”

What is a quick description of your TED Talk?

“The world isn’t built for introverted people, but that doesn’t mean that they have to change the way they are.”

Does public speaking make you nervous? How has this project improved your skills?

“Yes, public speaking is really terrifying, but I think it’s the anticipation of waiting to speak rather than actually talking. Doing FHC Inspires has forced me out of my comfort zone for sure.”

Who are you giving this TED Talk for and why?

“My fellow introverts. Hopefully, everyone can learn something, though.”

What do you hope people will take away from your Talk?

“Introverts have it rough in the extroverted society–make room for us.”

Who’s TED Talk are you excited to hear live?

“Trevor [Vanskiver’s] and Kamdyn [Hawkins’] and Rasraj [Mann’s].”

If your presentation was a color what would it be and why?

“Purple and black. Introverts: blue, extroverts: red, combined: purple—and black because the actual presentation has a black background, and it’s a soothing color to look at.”

How does the layout of your Google Slides portray your personality and the topic of your Talk?

“I’m using a custom slide that gives the background of a blackboard. It is supposed to represent the school system, which is something that I’ll be talking about during my talk.”
