“I feel great about my TED Talk as it brings awareness to an issue in American society.”
What is a quick description of your TED Talk?
“My TED talk is about Sikhs, who are followers of Sikhism—the world’s 5th largest religion—and their roots in American society. I also talk about the discrimination [they face] in society.”
Does public speaking make you nervous? How has this project improved your skills?
“Yes, public speaking makes me quite nervous, but the fact that my TED Talk has an impact and brings awareness gives me motivation to speak—I become less nervous thinking about its impact.”
Who are you giving this TED Talk for and why?
“I am giving this TED Talk for the Sikhs living in the United States so that people can learn about their great contribution and their hardships.”
What do you hope people will take away from your Talk?
“I hope people will learn more overall about Sikhs and become more interested in this community and its standing in America.”
Who’s TED Talk are you excited to hear live?
“I am excited to hear everyone’s TED Talks because all of the topics are unique in their own way and seem very interesting.”
If your presentation was a color, what would it be and why?
“I would choose the color dark blue because this color symbolizes trust, loyalty, and wisdom, and it’s an overall very calming color, which really represents the Sikh community in my eyes.”

“The layout of the Google Slide portrays both my personality and my topic because it starts off showing the hardships and ends showing resilience.”
