TED Talk title: Addiction

Why did you apply to be a speaker?

“I applied to speak because I want to spread awareness about addiction. It is a topic I’m passionate about because I’ve dealt with it throughout my family.”

How are you feeling about speaking at FHC Inspires?

“I’m super nervous but very excited! My TED Talk is being adjusted than how it was in the Lecture Hall, so it will be a lot better.”

What was the process of picking the perfect TedTalk topic?

“I had to think about what topic I would truly enjoy presenting. I wanted it to be from the heart, not just to get it over with.”

What does your message mean to you?

“It means to have self-control and to try your best.”

Who is your target audience?

“Anyone really. Kids my age, adults, etc. Everyone can learn about addiction no matter their age. It’s always important to be aware [of] it.”

Did you ever see yourself speaking at FHC Inspires?

“I actually told myself there was no way I was doing that when I saw last year’s sophomores advertising it.”

What are you doing to prepare for the big night?

“I’m probably going to go over my TED Talk thousands of times. I’m obviously going to be nervous, but I think it’ll be fine.”

How does your Google Slide presentation reflect your topic? 

“It is simple but deep. The slideshow itself is simple to not distract away from my topic, but my topic is very deep.”
