Clue Q&As: Alex Fletcher

Clue Q&As: Alex Fletcher

Grade: 10

Role: Yvette

Why do you enjoy being in the play?

“I love being a part of the play, because then, I get to hang out with my lovely cast every day and get to know them really well. I enjoy watching the show come together because it’s incredibly aesthetically pleasing, and I also love just being on the stage.”

What made you decide that you wanted to try out?

“I decided to try out for the play because I like to push myself. I also absolutely love theatre, so the play seemed like a prime after-school activity to keep me busy. My family loves the movie Clue, so when I heard the play was Clue this year, I wanted to be in it so badly because I knew the play would be incredibly fun.

Do you relate to your character?

“My character is incredibly flirtatious and French, neither of which I am. I feel like I try to bring some of myself into her to connect to her more, because otherwise, I don’t!”

What’s your character when you play Clue?

“Professor Plum all day, every day. He knows what’s up.”

What is your pre-show ritual?

“Pre-show, I like to listen to some Britney Spears to get me hyped up to play a flirty lady. I also love to chat with people backstage, and I’m hoping to start a ritual where I do an iconic dance to “Funkytown” with [sophomore] Toby Cameron.”

What is your go-to fast food order/restaurant?

“I love Mcdonald’s with 97% of my heart, so if I have the means, I’m pulling up and getting myself a Happy Meal.”

Is it too early to listen to Christmas music?

“I would say yes, because if you start now, you’ll be sick of the songs by the time you reach Dec. 15. Instead, might I offer up the iconic alternative of ‘Albuquerque, He’s My Turkey.'”
