FHC’s Got Talent Q&As: Joaquin Dorado Gonzales
Grade: 9
Performance: Rythym video game
Give an elevator pitch for your performance:
“It’s unusual. It’s not the usual you would expect, like singing, dancing, or acting. I’m actually playing a rhythm video game mostly because I’ve done it a lot as a hobby, but now, I want to do it to step out of my comfort zone and perform in front of an audience.”
What specific qualities make your performance intriguing?
“Uniqueness, mostly because again, it’s a video game, you would never expect a video game to be on in the talent show.”
How does your performance reflect you as a person/group?
“The hard work and persistence, because I’ve been playing that game for over a year, so the growth [of] my journey is visible.”
Does stage fright impact you at all?
“Definitely. If you saw FX Wednesday morning, I was extremely nervous.”
Why did you choose to try out for the talent show?
“I just wanted to step out of my comfort zone.”
How long have you been preparing for this?
“So, I’ve been playing the game for over a year. And when the news that the talent show was going to be soon, I decided to try out.”
If you could have one pet, any pet, what would it be?
“A bigger, more relaxed dog that could just sit next to me.”
