2023 Winterfest Court Q&As: Everett Phipps

How do you feel about being on Winterfest court? 

“Well, it’s a little bit of extra work, but it’ll be fun to have the lip sync and see everyone’s reactions. It’s not that serious, so it’ll just be a fun thing to see what happens. Overall, it’s a thing I’m doing because I have to.”

What was your reaction to the announcement? 

“I was shocked. I knew my friend had asked a bunch of people to vote for me, so I was a little peeved [by] him, but it was kind of nice. I’m a bit of an attention guy, so it was nice.”

How will Winterfest night play out for you? 

“I’m going with some buddies to hang out at the dance.”

Who do you think should have been nominated? 

“Joshua Ogilvie. Josh for prom court everybody.”

Explain why people should vote for you as king? 

“I have long locks, golden hair. No one else has it.”

What is your favorite senior year memory? 

“So far, it’s been being on the wrestling team. It’s a new experience for me, and a lot of the guys are great. I love all my crew friends, but the wrestlers are cool. We’ve got a good camaraderie. It’s a good experience.”

Would you ever go skydiving?

“No. I am terrified of heights.”
