FHC Inspires 2023 Q&As: Aiden Platt
Position: Speaker
Title: “Boredom”
Why did you apply to be a speaker?
“I applied to be a speaker because a lot of my friends did that last year, and I wanted to do it, and I [am] really passionate about my topic for other people to learn about it.”
How are you feeling about speaking at FHC Inspires?
“I’m feeling really confident. I know my topic well, so I’m not that nervous to present it in front of people.”
What was the process of perfecting your speech?
“Just practice going over the very smaller details to fine-tune the speech.”
What does your message mean to you, and what should it mean to the audience?
“To me, it’s an insight of an aspect that we don’t really look at. Boredom, I feel like it’s very overlooked, and the thing to the audience, it could mean how they could apply that in their own lives to better themselves.”
Did you ever see yourself speaking at FHC Inspires?
“Yes, I did.”
Does your Google slide presentation reflect your topic?
“I would say so in the beginning. I try to bore the audience, and I create a very rewarding slideshow. And then, when I have more energy into my topic, the slideshow is much more interesting and appealing.”
What’s the best time of day and why?
“I would’ve to say mid-afternoon, like around 3 p.m. and 4 because it’s when it’s the nicest outside, but the sun isn’t getting down on you, and you still have the rest of your night to do stuff.”
What’s something you can’t live without?
“The car because I go everywhere with it.”
