Homecoming Court Q&A’s 2023
1) What was your reaction when you found out you were nominated?
“I was super hyped when I found out.”
2) What’s your current favorite song or one that’s been recently stuck in your head?
“Jigsaw Falling Into Place by Radiohead.”
3)If you had one color to describe your thoughts about homecoming right now, what would it be and why?
“Light gray, because I’m happy about going but I also injured my knee so I don’t know how well the dance is going to go.”
4) What are you most excited for about homecoming?
Dinner with friends and my dress which is super comfy?
5) What’s your favorite spirit day this week?
” Friday, the FHC Spirit Shirt Day, because I have an awesome shirt I can wear for it. ”
6) Do you have any advice for someone who’s never been to homecoming?
“Bring a pair of comfy shoes because heels get SO uncomfortable after like 10 minutes.”
What was your reaction when you found out you were nominated?
“I was very excited, and I felt honored to be nominated by my classmates. [I’m very grateful for those] who voted for me. I was also really excited to be on the court with such a fun group of kids.”
Why do you think you got nominated for court?
“I think probably because I talk to people and try to be nice by saying hi to a lot of people, I’m not really sure.”
What’s your favorite breakfast food?
“Honey Nut Cheerios with milk and a side of Greek yogurt really hits the spot for me.”
What are you most excited about for homecoming?
“I’m super excited for the themes and all the spirit days as well as the parade and all the assemblies. I also can’t wait to cheer on the football team at the end of the week.”
What’s your favorite spirit day this year?
“I’m really excited for Friday’s class themes day, but I also really liked Barbie and Ken day.”
Do you have any advice for someone who’s never been to homecoming?
“Try to get as involved in the activities as possible like the lip sync and spirit days.”
1) What was your reaction when you found out you were nominated?
“I was honestly shocked, people had told me before that they were going to vote for me and I had been campaigning for myself like a month before.”
3) What’s your favorite breakfast food?
“Eggs and Toast”
4) What are you most excited for about homecoming?
“Be there for the parade for sure because that’s the best part I feel like, watching the homecoming court go by on the cars, and all the floats and the band and the cheer [because] it’s just a good sight to see.”
5) What’s your favorite spirit day this year?
“I would say “Ranger” day because we dressed up in white and white is the only colored clothes I have in my closet.”
6) Do you have any advice for someone who’s never been to homecoming?
“Maybe bring a different pair of shoes. I know for a lot of people like the shoes to be heels. I know guys like to nice leather shoes and [girls] like to wear heels but on the dance floor it hurts because people step on your feet and the shoes are making your feet ache.”
1) What was your reaction when you found out you were nominated?
“I was shocked; I had no idea because in the back of my head [I was like] ‘that’d be really cool to be on the court,’ and then when it actually happened, I was like, ‘No way.'”
2) Why do you think you got nominated for court?
“I think Eisley [Sandefur]; I think she’s like sunshine, super sunshine, and Josie Crosse, who’s already on it.”
3) What’s your favorite breakfast food?
“Bagels!”
4) What are you most excited about about homecoming?
“I’m really excited for the parade; that’s going to be so much fun with me and Trystan because he’s my best friend.”
5) What’s your favorite spirit day this year?
“I’m sad we didn’t have pajama day this year [but] I really liked Barbie day [because] I think that one was the best one of all.”
1) What was your reaction when you found out you were nominated?
“[I was surprised] and a little upset because I wanted to be on Winterfest court?”
2) Why do you think you got nominated for court?
“I have no idea—I didn’t know anybody voted for me.”
3) What’s your favorite breakfast food?
“I like cinnamon rolls.”
4) What are you most excited for about Homecoming?
“Being on court; I haven’t gone to Homecoming yet, so I think it would also be cool to be on court.”

“I liked Barbie day.”
6) Do you have any advice for someone who’s never been to Homecoming?
“Dance. Don’t just stand in the corner. It would be kind of lame if you didn’t do anything.”
1) What was your reaction when you found out you were nominated?
“I was very surprised. I did not think I was going to be nominated for court, so I was mostly just surprised.”
2) Why do you think you got nominated for court?
“I’m not really sure, maybe just because I’m involved with a lot of things in and outside of school.”
3) What’s your favorite breakfast food?
“Probably french toast and sausage.”
4) What are you most excited for about homecoming?
“This is kind of random, but for this year’s homecoming we get to make our own Spotify playlist, so I’m excited for that.”
5) What’s your favorite spirit day this year?
“Denim day because I really liked painting the jeans and [seeing] a lot of the seniors wearing their jeans.”
6) Do you have any advice for someone who’s never been to homecoming?
“Just try to have fun. if you go in with the mindset that things are going to be embarrassing and it’s not going to be fun, then it won’t be. So just go, dance, and don’t worry too much about what other people are doing.”

“I was very surprised, and honored because it means a lot for my classmates to vote me.”

“Maybe because I am kind of a leader in the building.”

“The football game and the parade should be fun also.”

“Probably denim day.”
6) Do you have any advice for someone who’s never been to homecoming?
“Definitely go because it is a fun time and its fun to just be with all your friends and all your classmates.”

“I was overwhelmed with excitement [because] I wasn’t really expecting it but I’m very happy.”
2) Why do you think you got nominated for court?
“I feel like I’m inclusive and try to be kind to everyone so maybe people noticed that, I’m not really sure [haha]. ”
3) What’s your favorite breakfast food?
“Personally, I love a good breakfast burrito.”
4) What are you most excited for about homecoming?
“I’m excited for the actual dance [because] I always have a good time with my friends [and] I’m glad we get to make our own playlist this year too!”
5) What’s your favorite spirit day this year?
“I liked the western out for the seniors. I think it was easy for everyone to participate in that.”
6) Do you have any advice for someone who’s never been to homecoming?
“Just have fun and to remember it’s only as fun as you make it. Don’t feel like you’re too cool to dance or get rowdy!”

“I felt super excited to be nominated by my classmates and really grateful that my peers voted me onto the court.”
2) Why do you think you got nominated for court?
“I feel like I must have had some really good friends who thought I was a good candidate for court. I am super grateful for all of the support.”
3) What is my favorite breakfast food?
“My favorite food to eat In the morning are chocolate chip pancakes!”
6) What are you most excited about about homecoming?
“I am very excited about the parade and watching the Rangers beat Northview this Friday. I also look forward to the rest of our theme days.”
7) What’s your favorite spirit day this year?
“Barbie and Ken day because it gives me an excuse to wear pink. I am also looking forward to wearing Western clothes.”
8) Do you have any advice for someone who’s never been to homecoming?
“My advice would be to get involved with as many activities as you can and to participate. Don’t be worried about embarrassing yourself and just focus on having fun with your classmates.”
