Dear present me: what if? – part two

The place where I work.

The place where I work.

Dear Present me,

Why is my life the way it is?

Why does it feel like I’m running on the seven seas, yet when I want to reach the highs and lows, I still can’t stop? It feels like the highs and lows aren’t aligning with where I want to be.

I finally solved the code.

I cracked the case.

I resolved the never-ending mystery.

Your story is your superpower, and it’s the beacon of light that sparks your soul into a perspective that you never thought possible. It’s the reason you think the way you think, the reason you do the things you love.

It’s the reason you are the way you are, and because of that, you will always be in control.

That’s why you no longer question those “what if?” moments. The second they arrive, they already feel like a distant memory. If I were the author of a dictionary, the words “what” and “if” wouldn’t be allowed in mine. You write your own narrative. You start the next chapter; you end it. You are the author of your own story.

And now, the power is in your hands to live the life you’ve always anticipated.

When you feel like lying in your bed, just hoping that time will stand still, your past, present, future, and current self will be there for you, cheering for you, like they always have been.

That thought reanimates my inner child, and I couldn’t agree with it more.

I catch myself in the most amusing experiences when I get the chance to hear about kids experiences and help them achieve their goals in their learning endeavors.

This version of myself sparkles the most in the afternoons when I get the splendid opportunity to work with people who used to be just like me: children.

I catch myself having the most amusing experiences when I get the chance to hear about kids’ experiences and help them achieve their goals in their learning endeavors.

“How do you solve this problem?”

I explain it.

“Can you show this concept again?”

I am a piece of the overabundance of funny experiences that embody the joyful and silly environment of children.

One moment that’s vivid and puts a smile on my face every time I think of it is when one child was too tired to come to me for help, and, instead, they fell asleep while doing their work.

Kids say the most random phrases and it truly makes my day that much more joyful than it already is.

Moments like those make my world go around, but no matter what era of your life you are in, no matter how much you evolve as a person, your soul is the most permanent part of your life.

It’s the one part of yourself that is written in permanent marker.

But please remember, those flaky remnants of your past are only a small part of the equation that is your life.

Sincerely,

Present me
