When I was five, I listened to my first Taylor Swift song, “You Belong With Me.” This was the first time I had heard anything like it. It made my five-year-old self want to get up and dance and make paper signs like the music video. Coincidentally, I started watching football with my uncle that same year. His favorite team was the Philadelphia Eagles. Watching the Eagles every Sunday became a massive part of my life. My Eagle’s hat sits on my bookcase every day, and I get to wear it whenever they play. Back in the 2023 Super Bowl, when the Eagles played against the Kansas City Chiefs, I found out Jason Kelce—enter player for the Philadelphia Eagles—had a brother named Travis Kelce. I forgot about him until Sept. 24, 2023, when my two worlds collided, and I watched Taylor Swift in a private suite at Arrowhead Stadium.
Since that day, one of my favorite parts of watching Swift attend games is seeing what fashion statement she will make that week. Swift is known for her notoriously edgy, classical, and modern clothing style; you never know what you will get with her. Here are my top five favorite looks Swift wore during the last football season.
5. Lucky red sweater
On Jan. 28, Swift debuted this cherry-red, $985 cashmere sweater at the Chiefs versus Baltimore AFC championship game. I call this the “lucky red sweater” because I believe Kelce plays better when Swift is there, and she is probably the reason they won the AFC championship–not because of the players. This outfit brought something personal from Swift; we got to see her naturally curly blonde hair, combined with a sense of casualness when you look at her skirt and tights. This reminds me of her Red era. I like how much of a personal touch she gave this outfit, especially with the red lipstick, but still, I have seen better from Swift.
4. Who is Taylor Swift, anyway? I only know Travis Kelce’s girlfriend
Swift wore this outfit to the 2024 Super Bowl. Personally, I like how this outfit shows she can change her aesthetic regarding the game’s vibe. This one is very edgy; if you know anything about Swift, you know she has a bit of edginess. Swift pulled up to this game with her friends, all complementing each other’s outfits with personal touches. Her personal touch was, of course, red lipstick and pants. Swift wore crystal slit jeans worth $685, but the rhinestone touches made it all worth it.
3. Wow! That’s a lot of denim she is wearing
This year, she entered the Chief’s kick-off game with this outfit. It is giving the early 2000s vibe with the denim. I have noticed that denim has been highly in style this year, so Swift had to hop on the bandwagon. This outfit is extremely simple. The hair and the boots are what made the look for me. How her bangs fall into place with her blown-out style is incredible. This one is one of my top favorites. Taylor, if you are reading this, can I borrow that denim set? Asking for a friend, obviously!
2. And I’ll be 87 you’ll be 89
I adore this outfit. Swift wore this outfit at the Chiefs versus Dolphins game on Jan. 13. This was the first time she wore something with Kelce’s number. Everything about this outfit is perfection to a tee. The white hat complements the black synthetic sweater, but also the jacket because of the white on the 87. This jacket was custom-made for Swift to wear at the game, which makes it even more special. This look is more of a simple outfit but a timely one with the amount of fashion staples that are in it.
1. Vintage slays at a football game
This one is by far my favorite. She wore this at the Chiefs versus Denver Broncos game on Oct. 12, 2023. I have seen so many outfits by Swift, not just at football games, and this one will win every single time. She looks so beautiful with her ponytail and bangs; it gives me the vibe of old Taylor. The black tank top with a zipper is very Reputation—if you know, you know—and the jacket is a vintage windbreaker, which is a combination of two of my favorite things: vintage and windbreakers.
This was one of my favorites because I got to see the Taylor Swift five-year-old me loved and the one 16-year-old-me, who has changed a lot, loves now. I also think her jewelry in this was a phenomenal addition to the outfit.
When I see Swift up in the suite, five-year-old me jumps around and dances in my heart, and now a new tradition has been added to my Sunday night football viewings, critiquing Swift’s outfits.

This is a unique and fun perspective about the positive brand impact the NFL is receiving from this super star. And, a whole new type of sport fan with far more inclusivity has been born.
