Humans of FHC: Jacob Wolfgang

“Last year, I cut my forehead open at rugby, and we hadn’t even had a real game yet. It was our very first scrimmage, and ten minutes in, I got kicked in the face and had to go get stitches. I got a concussion too. I dove for some guy’s legs, and his leg came up and hit me in the forehead. I still have a scar from it, and I was out of rugby for about a week and a half because of the concussion. I couldn’t feel any of it when it happened, and the only thing I felt was when they started putting the needle in my head to sew it all up. I can’t really remember all that was happening. I just remember lying on my back and hearing Brandon Weiskopf telling me I was going to die, but I think it was overdramatized by him. I was laughing because I didn’t even know I got hit in the face until my coach had to wrap up my head. I was pretty dazed the whole time. That was the first time I’d ever had a concussion and had stitches, and now, I want to get a matching scar on the other side or another through my eyebrow.”
