“Throughout the summers, my family would go up north and rent different cottages. It would always be on a lake, and sometimes, we’d rent a jet ski or just tour around. I was always with my family, and it was just [good to] hang out. [I have] not a lot [of time in the school year to be with my family], but we’ve all really found that time to spend with each other.
Probably my dad [is the most influential person in my life]. He inspired me to first start running, which then, in turn, got me into rowing crew. So, without him, I wouldn’t have done either. [Through sports, I’ve realized] that you really have to work for what you want.”
