Coming off a great win against Cedar Springs on Friday night, the girls varsity soccer team continued with its success against the Ottawa Hills Bengals Monday night, winning by a score of 9-0. Sophomore Autumn Burns and senior Ashley Ward led the charge offensively with 2 goals each, but junior Hannah Becker was subbed in to play out of her usual position and scored 2 goals as well. Juniors Kelsey Toole and Kaylyn Whitten along with senior Kaitlyn Pointkowsky rounded out the scoring for FHC.

A hot start offensively worked in favor for the Lady Rangers. Ashley and Autumn got all of their goals before halfway through the first half to jump out to a 4-0 lead early. Head coach Ashley Ludtke got some fresh legs in earlier than usual, and it paid off. The usual goalie Hannah Becker was subbed in and scored 2 quick goals. Kaitlyn and Kaylyn would put the cherry on top for the Lady Rangers, as FHC walked away with an impressive 9-0 mercy win after the first half.

The win last night puts FHC at 6-2 on the season as well as improving to 3-1 on the season. The Lady Rangers will be faced with a big challenge in their next game Wednesday night, as they take on the Lowell Red Arrows on the road. Lowell is recently coming off a 2-1 loss against a very good Forest Hills Northern team, and the Red Arrows have proven that they can play with top-notch opponents. The forwards for the Red Arrows will be a challenge, so the defense for FHC will be the difference-maker in Wednesday night’s ball game.
