Panera on 28th and Kraft Needs to Make Changes
A nice, warm, cinnamon crunch bagel with a layer of cream cheese and a strawberry banana smoothie is one of the best ways to start a morning. There are no better bagels than Panera’s. I have, and always will be, a huge fan of Panera bagels. No matter where I am, Panera is my first choice for breakfast. Their sizable selection of foods and exceptional staff keep me coming back time and time again.
So of course, I was thrilled when Panera moved in just a few minutes away from my house: on the corner of 28th street and Kraft. However, after many bad experiences there, I’d rather drive the extra distance to go to another Panera than visit this one again.
I understand the hassle of moving to a new location, the stress of new workers and a new building, but my patience only lasts so long. The first time I went in there I bought a strawberry banana smoothie and a bagel. As I waited, I admired the new building, its delicious bakery smell and bright, fresh paint. After almost ten minutes, I walked up to the counter where the kitchen staff handed the food out. I peeked my head in, caught the attention of one of the workers, and called him over. I asked about my smoothie and was thoroughly shocked by his answer; it was nine in the morning and they were out of bananas. Not only were they out, but they had had no intention of letting me know. It didn’t end there though.
In all of the times that I have visited this Panera since, there has always been a problem. From not having a pickup ready, even if I was late getting there, to forgetting cream cheese. After being silently frustrated with this Panera for many weeks, I mentioned to one of my friends my exasperation and was not at all shocked to find that she had many of the same problems there. Our conversation was overheard by another girl in our class, who joined in saying that she couldn’t stand that Panera either.
Panera’s delicious food usually kept me coming back for more; however, until the Panera on 28th street and Kraft makes some changes, they won’t be getting any business from me.
