Winterfest Week Opener
In honor of Winterfest Week, The Central Trend is honoring school spirit, promoting traditional school events, and broadcasting important information to students and parents alike. Monday kicked off spirit week with Pajama Day, and throughout the week, the The Central Trend will be promoting students with exceptional school spirit. Each day, five students will be showcased on the website for wacky outfits or notable spirit.
In other news, students are encouraged to vote for their Winterfest Prince, Princess, King and Queen through their student e-mails; voting is open until Thursday. Students are urged to submit their votes as soon as possible. Underclassmen Prince and Princesses, along with Senior King and Queen, will be announced Friday, February 10th at the annual Winterfest Assembly.
The senior Winterfest Court was announced on Friday. The nominees are as follows: Abby Deweerd, Michaela Cloud, Katelyn Johnson, Caitlyn Murphy, Paige Guikema, Tommy Barfuss, Mitchell Banks, Alec Elzinga, John Pynnonen, and Peyton Fester. Interviews with the Winterfest Court will be published on the The Central Trend throughout the week, as well as with the Princes and Princesses.
Monday, February 6th at 7:00 p.m., the Winterfest tradition of Macho Volleyball will take place. Junior and senior boys face off in an intense volleyball match, and students are encouraged to come and cheer on their favorite upperclassmen.
