When the leaves start to resemble a light orange or a light red, that’s when you know that it may be time to transition some of your outfits from swimsuits and shorts to something slightly warmer. There are a lot of items that are popular to spice up your style in these next few months.
Firstly, shoes. Shoes tend to be underrated, but they are nonetheless an integral part of your outfits. They can class it up, or dress it down, and they can be matched with multiple outfits and styles. Currently, the tennis shoes of the fall are New Balances. The sleek design makes them cute with a basic sweatshirt and leggings, or comfortable with jeans and a blouse. Either way, New Balance’s variety of colors and designs give a wide array of options and can fit your style while keeping up with the trends. In terms of more relaxed shoes, the classic Birkenstock or Ugg will sustain to fit in the shoe game. The Ugg Tasman slipper is continuing its reign as a shoe that a large variety of guys and girls own and wear on a daily basis. Although they fit best with a more laid-back outfit of maybe sweatpants and a top, they can still be styled with jeans. Birkenstocks seem to be similar to the Tasman slipper, but climbing the shoe board is the clog style. A slightly nicer shoe that has also been popular has been the Adidas Samba. The shoe comes in various color variations, along with the previous shoes, and is a tad less of an active shoe than a tennis shoe for looks and style. Samba and Clogs are more of shoes of personal opinion; some people love them, while others don’t quite agree.
Next, we come to clothing. As always, brands such as Lululemon and Brandy Melville continue to flourish through the fashion industry, creating a fashionable outfit with any of their items. Specifically for Lululemon, the Dance Studio Pant has become an omnipresent item you will see, along with similar styles from many other brands. They are an active pant with a thin material and two ways to be worn: The first way can be with the bottoms synched, creating a parachute pant style while the second is with them loose, as wide-leg pants. Both options are cute with many matched tops and are comfortable for lounging around or working out at yoga. They can be found at many other stores and brands for different prices, and slightly different designs. On the same topic, just about any wide-leg pants, whether it be sweats or jeans, are very in. A jean style that has been popping up more and more is the jean skirt. Although it may fall under more of a summer item, it is perfect with a cozy sweater or any top to create a slight up-dressed style for hanging out with friends or going out to dinner. Vests seem to be continuing their reign after the summer break because they have already been brought out in a majority of styles when the temperature drops just enough to need half a jacket for comfort. In similar situations, oversized sweaters are a perfect and comfortable solution for the chilly temps, whether it be under a vest or not. Sweaters are personally my favorite because they can be worn for anything, and with anything, and are comfortable to cuddle up in watching a movie or even doing the ridiculous amounts of homework I have each night.
Finally, accessories are fair game. Anything that is your style will add the perfect finishing touch to any outfit. In terms of what is popular, gold tends to be more present than silver, and dainty jewelry layered is most seen. Examples would be layering of necklaces, bracelet stacks, and multiple rings. Most of these layers are, like I already mentioned, of “thinner” jewelry making it look lighter instead of thick pieces.
As for more specific extras, hairstyles are just about all adorable based on personal preference, similar to jewelry. But, a slick back is a rising popular choice to add a clean girl look to any outfit. It is perfect for days when your hair may be a little too greasy to style down but gives an excuse to wait to wash it for at least another day.
Now that the leaves have begun to change, these styles are officially in, and each one will perfectly spice up your wardrobe for the new season.
