My favorite compliment ever is being told that I smell good. Because of this, I have tried out so many perfumes, and I definitely know which ones are worth the hype and money and which I would always pass on.
Sol de Janeiro
I never wanted to get into Sol de Janeiro. I thought their perfumes were more money than they were worth, and despite the fact that I think their packaging is aesthetic, I also think it looks on the cheaper side. However, I did receive a bottle of their Cheirosa perfume in scent 62 and became obsessed with their perfumes. I have tried all of their scents and adore (most of) them. The smell doesn’t fade over time, and I get compliments pretty much every time I wear one of them. However, there are cheaper options if that’s what you’re looking for, and dupes aren’t that hard to find. Personally, I have fallen in love with Sol de Janeiro against my will and will continue to use it.
Fine’ry
This brand of dupes, sold at Target, has recently become one of my favorites. Their body mists are only $14.99, and for that price, I would buy several bottles. I have the Pistachio Please scent, which is a dupe of Sol de Jainero 62, and it is heavenly. I just recently purchased a bottle of Sweet on the Outside, which is a dupe for Eilish perfume. I love their body mists and fully intend to buy several more bottles. If you prefer perfume over body mist, their perfumes are $29.99. Personally, I would never spend that much on a perfume when I can buy a body mist for half the cost. But, all in all, I love Fine’ry and recommend that you try it.
Charlotte Tilbury
Let me be honest, I would never choose to buy anything from Charlotte Tilbury. I can find products that are just as good for half the price. However, my love for perfume took over while I was checking out at Sephora, and I bought the Fragrance Collection of Emotions that is sold in the checkout aisle. It cost $30 and included 6 bottles of 1.5 mL perfume. I have used these perfumes very sparingly due to the small amount, but I am obsessed. I love having 6 bottles to choose from, and they all smell divine. I’m still unwilling to spend the money on a whole bottle, but I love my sample-sized ones. I recommend this if you want to try out some perfumes before committing to buying an expensive bottle.
Juliette Has a Gun
This is my all-time favorite perfume. I would sell my soul for the last bottle of this, and I wouldn’t regret it. Although it is definitely very expensive, a full bottle costs $150, I got a sample size in my monthly Ipsy subscription last year. I have been saving it and only use it on rare occasions so as not to run out. Juliette Has a Gun smells so good and lasts all day. It is unbelievable, and I think this is one of the perfumes that is actually worth the money. This perfume has many different options, and they are all so amazing. I can’t go to Sephora without testing them out. If you are looking for a high-quality brand name perfume, this is absolutely worth it.
Bath and Body Works
The last brand that I use semi-regularly is Bath and Body Works. They have more perfume scents than most brands I know, and there is something for everybody. A full-sized fragrance mist costs $16.95, much less than most perfumes on this list. Their cost of these products means they are not as high quality, and they definitely don’t last long. However, the wide range of scent options does appeal to me, and I have more of their fragrance than any one person needs. If you are looking for a more affordable option, this is definitely the one.
I adore trying out as many perfumes as possible, however I despise spending an absurd amount of money on them. I now know what perfumes are worth the splurge, and which should definitely be skipped.
