Varsity boys soccer shuts out rival EGR 3-0

The boys varsity soccer team led by seniors Jared Ireland and Nolan Vandegrift, shut out East Grand Rapids 3-0 on the pioneers home turf. For the first goal of the game, sophomore Sammy Postlewait assisted one of the team’s most recent additions, senior Eric Conerty. With the second half underway, Eric stole the ball from the East Grand Rapids goalkeeper and scored the second goal of the game. With East still struggling to find their flow offensively and defensively, a cross field pass from senior MJ Francisco deflected off one of the Pioneers own defenders and into the net to score the third and final goal for the Rangers.

After Monday night’s win against EGR, The Rangers are 3-1-1 in the OK white conference. After beating East Kentwood, a huge rival, 1-0 last week on their home turf, the team looking for another strong playoff run or even further like 2015’s state final run. The Rangers are planning on continuing their streak next game, tomorrow night at 6:45 at OK white conference opponent, Northview.
