Name: Megan Tiggleman

Grade: Senior

After cross country’s first meet at Kenowa Hills, Megan is primed for improvement in the near future. This is her second year on the time and has been moving up ever since she joined.

 

What is your biggest inspiration throughout your athletic career?

“My biggest inspiration is support from my teammates.”

How/why did you first start cross country?

“My friend Hannah Anderson was always bugging me to join and I did not have anything else to do during the fall season so I joined to be in shape for lacrosse and to be with my friends.”

What is your best time that you have achieved while running in a race? What was a reason you did particularly well in that race?

“My best time in a race was a 23:42 at the last race of the season last year. It was the last race and I had been training all season.”

What is the hardest part about running cross country? Why?

“The hardest part of running is finding the strength to keep running when you are in pain.”

What do most people not know about running cross country that is an important role in running?

“Most people do not know that before every race we eat pasta which makes us run faster.”

Do you participate in any other sports at FHC? If so which is your favorite?

“Ski team and lacrosse and lacrosse is my favorite because I have been playing for a long time.”

Where are you planning on going to college and why are you interested in those colleges?

“I am interested in going to Indiana University but I am looking at other colleges because I do not know what I am interested in doing.”

What is your favorite quote about athletics?

“‘Somewhere between the athlete you’ve become and the hours of practice and the coaches that have pushed you is a little girl who fell in love with the game and never looked back… Play for her.’ Mia Hamm. My lacrosse coach read this to us my freshman year and it has always stuck with me.”
