Week three varsity football predictions and bold statements
This week the Rangers will square off against the Ottawa Hills Bengals at home on community tailgater night.
Jake’s score prediction: FHC 56-Ottawa Hills 13
Why: The Rangers come in after a huge win, and are even more fired up then the first two weeks of the season. The offense took time to click last week, but I think the Rangers have ironed out their mistakes and flaws and are ready to come out high scoring right away. The Ranger defense has done nothing but make clutch plays when they are needed and they will not stop that streak this week.
Bold Statement: With Tate Hallock and the receiving core starting to heat up, I think five different Rangers will catch touchdowns, with another pair of Rangers getting it done on the ground with rushing touchdowns. Seven different guys. Eight touchdowns.
Ty’s score prediction: FHC 44-Ottawa Hills-6
Why: With momentum after a hard fought win at West Ottawa the Rangers look to keep things rolling at home against the bengals. The rangers will look to get their offense going early, but their defense will be the difference maker.
Bold Statement: 2 defensive touchdowns. Cam Deines will get his first interception of the year at cornerback.
Mr. George’s score prediction: FHC 62 – Ottawa Hills 0
Why: We’re good. They struggle. That’s reason number one. This is a team that has lost 13 consecutive games dating back to two seasons ago. Secondly, the Rangers are riding the emotional high of an electrifying win over West Ottawa. Momentum and belief are sometimes more important than talent and execution. FHC will roll and will roll early. Expect a running clock for most of the second half after FHC takes a 42-0 halftime lead.
Bold statement: Bryce Clay returns the opening kickoff for a touchdown.
