JV soccer steals another conference victory over Cedar Springs
The Rangers had another big conference matchup to start off their week, this time against the Cedar Springs Red Hawks. The Rangers have been rolling, coming off a big win against Greenville last week. Richie Alvarez started the Rangers off strong early in the first half. Alvarez capitalized off a costly mistake by the Redhawk goalkeeper and found the twine. Other than a quick goal in the first half, it took both teams a while to get things going. It was back and forth action up and down the field, making the first half very interesting.
The score coming into the second half was 1-0 Rangers, and they picked up right where they left off with a goal from striker Micah Gschwind. The Redhawks would have an answer though, with a goal coming shortly after Gschwind’s making the score 2-1 Rangers. The rest of the game had very little quality scoring chances, it was a defensive half. It was a great game and a complete performance for the Rangers as they captured yet another conference win.
They face off against a very tough Northview team later in the week. This team is firing on all cylinders, and is showing they have the ability to take the conference.
