Freshman Volleyball stays on a roll to defeat Northview 2-0
The freshman volleyball team defeated the Northview Wildcats on the road 2-0 staying hot and defeating the Wildcats. Rachel Toole and Lily Vanskiver were keys to Thursday night’s big win. Rachel had some great passes to create open hits for her teammates Lily and Cora Kelly. Lily continued to have great hits and was very smart around the net. The Rangers won both sets 25-16, and 25-22.
The first set went very well as the Lady Rangers won 25-16. The Rangers would get stuck in serve and the Wildcats would get some points of that. However, the Rangers made the adjustments they saw and had each other’s back by communicating on the court and eventually winning the set. The second set was much closer, but it wasn’t that the Rangers played bad. Northview played very well in the second set and the Rangers still got the win. Communication was a big key for the win in the second set. Otherwise, we would’ve seen this game go into three sets.
The Rangers still only have one loss in conference play to Northern, but they’ve proven that they can beat the Huskies if they wanted to. The Rangers have two road games next week. They will face the Greenville Yellow Jackets this Tuesday, and the Cedar Springs Red Hawks this Thursday.
