College Football Week 6 Recap and Week 7 Predictions

This week in College Football was what all of us fans were waiting for. 2 top 10 teams getting upset Saturday night, both at home. The Iowa State Cyclones shocked the number 3 Oklahoma Sooners on a touchdown with under two minutes to play. This affected the playoff picture by dropping the Sooners to number 12, as the Georgia Bulldogs emerge to get the number 4 spot in the playoffs. The second shock was in Ann Arbor Michigan as the Michigan Wolverines were defeated by their in state rival, the Michigan State Spartans. This dropped the Wolverines to number 17, almost eliminating them from playoff contention unless they beat number 3 Penn State on the road, and beat their arch-nemesis Ohio State Buckeyes the last game of the season at the Big House.

Staff Standings (Points)

1.Jessie: 14

T2. Jake: 12

T2. Nick: 12

  1. Spaletto: 10
  2. Tobey: 9

Spaletto falls down to 4th as Nick grabs 3rd place. Nick and Jessica guessed all 5 games right.

Auburn vs. LSU (WIltjer) – This is a big time SEC matchup and will be a very close game in Baton Rouge. Auburn has a tough schedule coming up and this will be a tough test at one of the hardest places to play ij the country. I think will LSU’s tough running game they will beat the tigers at home in front of their fans.

Predictions:

Nick – Auburn

Spaletto- Auburn

Jessica – Auburn

Jake- LSU

Tobey- LSU

Oklahoma vs Texas(Tobey) – Oklahoma is going to absolutely run train on the Longhorns this week and the Red River Rivalry will have no effect on this years game. The way Baker Mayfield is playing this season, I believe the Texas defense will not be able to handle Oklahoma’s explosive offense.

Predictions:

Nick – Oklahoma

Spaletto- Oklahoma

Jessica Oklahoma

Jake- Oklahoma

Tobey- Oklahoma

Oregon vs. Stanford- This is a game between two of the most recognized schools in the Pac-12 and on the West Coast. Stanford is coming off a huge win against Utah in Salt Lake City while Oregon got destroyed in Eugene by a very talented Washington State team. Stanford was moved up to number 23 in the country while Oregon stays unranked. The big question going into the game will be will Oregon be able to stop Stanford’s high scoring offense, as we saw a couple weeks ago at home against UCLA. I believe this game in Palo Alto will be close, but I see Stanford pulling it out at home.

Predictions:

Nick – Stanford

Spaletto- Stanford

Jessica – Stanford

Jake- Stanford

Tobey- Oregon

Michigan vs Indiana (Nick) – Indiana and Michigan are both very talented teams. Michigan is coming out of a loss to their rival, MSU. While Indiana is coming out of a shutout win over Charleston Southern. Michigan may have a better record, 4-1, than Indiana’s, 3-2. But Indiana has momentum. Michigan is playing sluggish and can’t seem to get their offense rolling. Indiana wins at home.

Predictions:

Nick – Indiana

Spaletto- Michigan

Jessica – Michigan

Jake- Michigan

Tobey- Michigan

Georgia Tech vs Miami FL

This upcoming weekend the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will play the number 13 Miami Hurricanes at Miami. Both teams are coming off wins in the previous weekend and are excited to play again. On the offensive side for the Yellow Jackets, they have the second-best rushing game in the nation. For the Hurricanes, they contain a solid team on both ends of the field. Georgia Tech will face a difficult game this Saturday as Miami is a well rounded team and contains a strong defense that Georgia’s rushing offense may not be able to beat.

Predictions:

Nick – Miami

Spaletto- The U

Jessica – Miami

Jake- Miami

Tobey- GT
