“This year for Halloween, my friend Rachel and I decided to be Thing 1 and Thing 2. Rachel’s mom decided to make the costume for us, and apparently, a few days after we asked her mom to make the costumes, Rachel’s brother and his friend asked to be Thing 1 and Thing 2 too. Rachel’s mom now had to make four costumes in total. Rachel’s brother and his friend are both in my French class, and every day leading up to Halloween, we would discuss it. They would accuse me of stealing their costume idea even though they came up with it after we did. On Halloween, even though we were matching, it was fun– Rachel and I went to a party and went trick-or-treating because you’re never too old for candy.”
