Forest Hills gymnastics falls to Rockford powerhouse 141-137
In their meet against three-time state champion Rockford, Forest Hills gymnastics hung with this powerhouse to only fall 141-137 for final team scores. Despite this being their first loss in dual meets this season, the Rangers still had impressive scores to make the meet as close as it was.
The best team event last night was floor, as four girls scored in the nine range and two in the eight. Specifically, sophomore Hannah Walters earned an 8.8 and sophomore Olivia Jeong secured an 8.925. Hannah and sophomore Veronica Wagner scored in the eight range for both the vault and bars, while Olivia and junior Maheen Mulligan earned some eights on the beam and vault events.
Overall, the team still feels there are improvements to be made and the Rangers will work towards perfecting their routines for their next meet on Wednesday, January 24th. The Forest Hills team will be competing against Kenowa Hills again. Last time these two teams met, FH came out on top with a five point margin of victory.
