Gymnastics pulls out 139-136 victory over Lowell
Forest Hills gymnastics bounced back after a tough meet in Canton last weekend to defeat Lowell 139-136 last night. Sophomore Hannah Walters led the team by performing well across many events but many Rangers earned high scores that contributed to the overall win.
Hannah Walters secured an 8.5 on the vault, 8.125 on the bars, and 8.5 on the beam. Senior Hannah Kuhlmann was also a high-scorer, as she earned an 8.3 on the floor and a 9.05 on the vault. Sophomore Olivia Jeong earned some scores in the high seven and eight range, as well as junior Maheen Mulligan earning a 9.1 on the beam.
The Rangers are consistently earning in the eight range across the board, with a few spikes into the nines. This type of scoring is key to being a successful team. Forest Hills will take on Rockford next on Monday, Feb. 12. The Rangers have lost ot the Rams a few times earlier in the season, but they only lost by a very small margin and earned the highest team score all season the last time the two teams met. The gymnasts look to continue to perfect their routines and hopefully pull out a win against the Rams.
