Girls varsity basketball preview: Cedar Springs Red Hawks

After a convincing 10 point victory over Greenville on Friday, the Lady Rangers will take on the Cedar Springs Red Hawks at home tonight. Cedar Springs is 4-11 overall and 2-4 in the conference, compared to the 10-6 and 6-2 Rangers.

When these two teams met earlier in the season, FHC was victorious 41-37. A big spark in the last matchup was senior Madi Winter, who had 21 points and 9 steals. Madi, however, will not be playing in tonight’s game due to injury. Junior Claire Baguley was also a high-scorer last game, so she will look to pick up the slack and compensate for the points Madi earned last game.

Cedar Springs recently also beat Greenville with the same exact score as FHC, 42-32. In the past couple of games, FHC has been playing cohesive offense and airtight defense which has made them extremely competitive. The Rangers will look to run the floor from start to finish tonight and come out with another win under their belts.

This game is expected to be another close one, but the Lady Rangers are playing with the confidence that they can pull out another win and head into Friday’s matchup against Lowell with three straight wins.
