Boys swim and dive takes the win against Jenison 102-76
Boys swim and dive took on Jenison last night and secured the win with a score of 102-76. With this win, the boys continue their undefeated streak as they approach conferences in the upcoming weeks.
Senior and co-captain Matt Wilson led the team with 10 points overall. Matt placed first in the 200-yard Medley Relay and in the 50-yard Freestyle. Matt also placed second in the 100-yard Butterfly. Freshman Avery LeTourneau placed in three events, scoring a total of 10 points as well. Avery took first in the 500-yard Freestyle, second in the 50-yard Freestyle, and third in the 200-yard Medley Relay. In the 200-yard Freestyle, sophomore CJ Hier ranked third, earning 3 points overall for the team. Junior Zach Stevenson then also scored 3 points by placing third in the 200-yard Medley Relay and the 500-yard Freestyle. Zach also ranked fourth in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay. Junior Ryan Talbot then brought in 6 points by taking first in the diving event, while senior Chance Spencer took third place in diving to add 3 more points on the scoreboard.
With another win added to their record, the boys look to continue their dominance with conferences right around the corner. The next meet will be the conference preliminary round, taking place next Friday. This meet will be the first step into conferences, and the following day will be the conference finals.
