Varsity baseball rolls past Lowell for two conference wins
The varsity baseball team hosted Lowell for two conference games last night and improved to 16-6 (14-3) on the season with 12-1 and 5-0 wins.
Game one was a close one at the third inning break, FHC leading 2-1. In the bottom of the third, however, senior Miko Rodriguez went yard to spark the offense. A big 7-run fourth inning then propelled the Rangers into the mercy rule after the fifth.
Seniors Nate Doolittle, Johnny Irish, and Michael Peliotes, along with junior Adam Tellier, all drove in runs in the fourth inning to contribute to the offensive onslaught. Johnny led the team in RBIs with 4, while Michael led the team at the plate by going 3-4.
Nate took the mound for the Rangers in a stellar performance to strike out 8, walk 2, and allow 2 hits.
In the second game of the night FHC had no breakout inning but accumulated 8 hits to score 5 runs across four innings. Michael and Miko continued their impressive offensive nights to manage multiple hits, each with a double.
With errorless defense behind him, Johnny dominated from the mound and earned himself a no-hitter in this shutout.
The Rangers travel to Lowell on Wednesday and look to complete the sweep of the Red Arrows in the last conference outing of the season.
