Girls JV golf takes second overall at Greenville Jamboree
This past Monday, the girls JV golf team attended the Greenville Jamboree competing against seven other teams. After a hard-fought battle, the girls placed second just behind their rival, Forest Hills Northern.
The Rangers’ final score was a 209. The final four competing scores came from juniors Haisley Turnquist and Katie Bethel, along with sophomores Bela Gonzalez and Anna Freihofer. Katie led the team with a final score of 50, Bela and Haisley came in just behind with scores of 52 and to round out the order, Anna ended with a score of 55. Anna had a strong showing overall but more specifically she scored an eagle on a par 4 to add on to her strong night.
Looking ahead, the girls’ next match will take place Wednesday, September 12 at Mona Shores. Overall, the season for the girls has been pretty solid and they have taken second in every match they’ve played in. The team looks to continue its dominance and to continue to improve throughout the rest of the season.
