Girls JV golf takes first place at Mona Shores
This past Wednesday, the girls JV golf team attended a jamboree in Mona Shore. A total of seven teams competed such as Forest Hills Northern, Northview, Mona Shores, Lowell, Belding, and Greenville. Every other match so far this year the girls have come up just short of first place, always taking second, but they finally got their big break and took first overall. In addition to a victory, the Rangers were able to beat out their cross-town rival, Northern, who took second.
The six Rangers whose scores went forward were juniors Haisley Turnquist and Katie Bethel, sophomores Anna Freihofer and Bela Gonzalez, and finally freshmen Alyssa Cheslek and Lexi Schnelker. The Rangers overall scored a 213. Katie finished with a 46, Haisley with a 53, and Anna with a 55. Bela and Alyssa both concluded with 59 and to tie it all together Lexi finished with a 66. The top three team-finishes had the Rangers in first, Northern in second with a 220 overall, and Northview with a 229.
With their first first-place finish in the books, the Rangers continue to stay strong with no finishes under second place. Their next match will take place Monday, September 17 in another jamboree at Northview.
