Girls varsity golf earns second place in the OK White
The girls varsity golf team wrapped up its regular season yesterday at the OK White Conference Tournament at Quail Ridge golf course. The Lady Rangers played an entire 18 holes instead of the usual nine, and they finished in their usual spot: second place behind Forest Hills Northern. With this second-place finish, FHC has earned the title of OK White Runner-up. Senior Kayley Reynolds and juniors Mandy Ehrlich and Ally Ringler earned All-Conference, while senior Haley Hamill earned All-Conference Honorable Mention.
Mandy led the team in this outing by shooting an 83 overall. Kayley was right behind her with an 86 on the day, and sophomore Maddie Knoor earned a 100. Following them were seniors Haley Hamill and Kacie Rispler, who shot a 102 and 104, respectively. Ally was not able to compete in this tournament due to a concussion, so sophomore Taylor Baumgardner competed in her place and earned a 111.
The Rangers will compete in the Reeths Puffer Invite tomorrow and the FHN Ernie Popiel Memorial Tournament on Monday before continuing on to the MHSAA Regional Tournament next Wednesday. FHC has had the goal all season to perform well at Regionals in order to advance to and compete at the State Finals. The Rangers will need to continue their solid play on the holes in the upcoming outings in order to achieve this goal.
