  • Freshman year he dislocated his knee cap and tore his PFL the day before his first competition, and this year he got a concussion

How long have you been wrestling?

“I’ve been wrestling since first grade so about nine years.”

What was the most exciting part of this season?

“Getting back on the mat after last season’s knee injury.”

What is your favorite part of the sport? 

“My favorite part of the sport is that it’s not only individual, but we have team tournaments as well.”

How did you get into wrestling?

“My dad signed me up a while ago because I hated all the running in basketball.”

Who is your inspiration in your sport?

“The person that inspires me the most is my little brother who is my number one fan. He cheers me on at every one of my matches.”

What is the team’s best quality?

“The team’s best quality is that we’ve been wrestling together for so long, so we have great team comradery.”

What three characteristics do you feel are most important for a wrestler to possess?

“The three most important characteristics of a wrestler happen to be the team motto: family, fellowship, and fortitude. Family is the first one because you spend so much time with the other wrestlers that they become your second family. Fellowship is important because you share your teammates’ successes and failures. Lastly fortitude because you need to be strong to get through the tough times.”
