Humans of FHC: Ruthie VanSkiver

“One time, I was going down a water slide on a blow-up playground when I was about 12 years old at my cousin’s house. While I was going down the slide, my little sister sat down on my finger. At first, I didn’t think anything of it, but after I went down the slide, my finger still hurt really badly. I tried to tell everyone that I had actually hurt my finger, but no one believed me until I went to the doctors and got an x-ray. It turned out that I had fractured my finger, and I had to wear a splint for about two to three weeks and go to a hand specialist to get it frequently check out.”
