Varsity water polo loses nail-biter to Grandville
The Forest Hills United water polo team took on the Grandville Bulldogs in a hard-fought match last night on the road. Sadly, FH was not able to pull out a win, as it went on to be beaten 10-7. This makes FH’s record 1-6 headed into the long break ahead.
Despite this devastatingly close loss, the team did have one player who went above and beyond in their performance last night. Junior Sarah Schenck scored all 7 goals for the team last night and was a phenomenal player on defense as well. Her contribution last night was much-needed and helped the game remain close in all four quarters.
Along with Sarah, junior Olivia Luplow had a solid performance last night as well. Olivia was able to move the ball up the pool and played strong defense for the team. Junior Maggie Zorn also performed very well last night and was able to help control the game on the offensive side of the pool. Maggie’s speed was a key factor in keeping the game close.
The team’s next match will be on Thursday, April 11, and FH will be taking on Zeeland East at home.
