What is your most memorable soccer experience?
“When I was in sixth grade, I went to Chicago and guest played for my sister’s team. It was the first time I had ever gotten to play with her on the field, and even though it wasn’t my team, it was one of the best experiences I have had at a tournament.”
What got you into playing soccer?
“My sister played before me and I looked up to her, so I always wanted to play. I’ve stuck with it ever since.”
What’s special about this year’s team?
“There’s a lot more freshman than sophomores, so there are more unique friendships than the year before. It’s been a lot of fun getting to know everyone.”
What was the experience like tearing your ACL?
“At first, I thought it was a minor knee injury and I thought I would be able to go back in the game. Then, the trainer told my parents it didn’t look good, and two hours after the game I was in extreme pain and realized that I may have a torn ACL. It didn’t hit me until later that I wouldn’t be able to play the rest of the season.”
With your injury, what’s your new role on the team?
“I pretty much just go to games and cheer on my team. I’m kind of like the team cheerleader, and I try to help whenever I can.”
