Girls Varsity Golf Dominates to Start Season
The girls varsity golf team teed off the 2019 season at the TCC Lober Invitational up north in Traverse City followed by a home invitational hosted at GVSU’s golf course, The Meadows. The Rangers put on a show during both events; they finished second out of 29 teams at the Lober Invitational and another second-place finish at the Ranger Invitational.
Seniors Ally Ringler and Mandy Ehrlich paved the way for the Rangers, shooting a 160 and 159 respectively over two rounds–both scores boosting them into the top 10. Their hot streak continued into their next event with Ally and Mandy again placing in the top 10 with both players finishing with an 83. Junior Maddie Knoor gave a promising look towards the future of Ranger golf by shooting an 86 and finishing alongside two of her teammates in the top 10.
After playing three rounds in the span of three days, the team is still only just heating up. They will be participating in the Jamboree at Ottawa Hills for their next match and look to ride their success deep into this season.
