Girls varsity golf earns second place at Lowell Jamboree
For the fourth time in a row this season, the girls varsity golf team has notched a second-place finish, this time at the Lowell Jamboree. The Rangers finished with an exceptional score of 168; they only fell to first-place FHN by 2 strokes, and they distanced themselves from third-place Greenville by 15 shots. All golfers on the team finished with scores in the low-50’s or less.
Leading the pack for the team was again senior Ally Ringler. She accomplished a score of 40, while both senior Mandy Ehrlich and junior Maddie Knoor supported the team by ending with a 42. Other superb performances from the Rangers include junior Taylor Baumgardner, who shot a 44, Senior Ivana Webb shot a 51, and senior Kaitlyn Bethel closed out the top five with a 53.
The team has demonstrated its consistency so far after 4 matches in the season. The Rangers will look to extend their current triumph when they embark on their next match. The girls will play next at the Greenville Jamboree at Bowen Lake on September 9th.
