Girls varsity golf takes second place at Greenville Jamboree
The girls varsity golf team earned itself another second-place finish, its 6th in a row on the season. The Rangers finished only behind 1 team out of 8, and they ended with a total team score of 177. A few new players participated for the first time at this jamboree, propelling the team to the exceptional ranking it achieved.
The team now definitely qualifies as being on a roll following the results of this event. Outstanding performances from the girls included a 42 shot by senior Mandy Ehrlich and the 43 shot by fellow senior Ally Ringler. Other dominant outings came from the younger players on the team including junior Taylor Baumgardner with a score of 45 and junior Ava Metaj shooting a 47. Juniors Maddie Knoor and Anna Friehofer also had notable scores of 50 and 60, respectively.
The Rangers are surely on a hot streak now, and although they must be pleased with their performance this far into the season, the next goal for the team is to notch its initial first-place finish for this year. The girls’ next chance to break out will be on September 11th when they set out for the FHN Jamboree at Egypt Valley.
