FHC’s JV Volleyball team makes it to the semi finals in the Hudsonville JV Invite
On Saturday, September 14th, the girls JV Volleyball team competed in the Hudsonville JV Invite. In this event, the girls faced five schools: Portage Central, Northview, West Ottawa, East Grand Rapids, and Grand Rapids Christian. The FHC team played well and made it into the gold bracket of the tournament. They worked hard and won 3 out of 5 matches but took a close loss in the semi-finals.
They started off the day with playing Portage Central. They played three games and the Rangers won 2-3 for the overall win. Next, they played Northview, in which the girls once again won 2-3, putting them on top. Their third match was against West Ottawa, and they lost in three games. Every player contributed to the team and they all did a great job at maintaining their composure and fighting for the win. Their focus and grit put them into the gold bracket for the next stage.
First, they played East Grand Rapids and the girls beat them in 2-3 games which allowed them to advance into the semi-finals. Grand Rapids Christian was their last opponent; they played close games but ultimately lost in the end. The team did very well and worked together to make it into the semi-finals of one of the most difficult tournaments of the season. The girls have shown improvement individually and as a team.
The next event for the girls is at home on Tuesday, September 17th, against Cedar Springs at 5:00 PM. With this momentum, the Rangers should do well in the upcoming events and get some wins for FHC.
