Girls varsity golf takes first place at Cedar Springs Jamboree
The girls varsity golf team has achieved victory for the first time this season. After finishing in second place 7 times in a row, the team has finished in first place out of 8 teams at the Cedar Springs Jamboree they participated in yesterday, furthering the dominance they have exhibited thus far.
The format of this jamboree was different than the other ones they have played in this season. The girls played in a scramble of 3 groups per team with 2 people per group. The Rangers set themselves atop the leaderboards by shooting a score of 110. They finished 8 strokes ahead of second-place FHN; third-place Greenville ended 9 strokes behind that with its score of 127, and Lowell rounded out the top four by shooting a 133.
The girls have not dropped under second place in any of their events this year, and they are only getting stronger. As they are hoping to start and extend a streak of first-place finishes, they will carry their momentum on to their next event—the FHC Jamboree that they will be hosting at Watermark on September 18th.
