Girls varsity golf finishes in second place at FHC Jamboree
The girls varsity golf team was back on the links yesterday at Watermark, where it hosted its own jamboree. The girls shot an accumulative score of 182; this score propelled them to second place on the leaderboards. FHN finished first, with the Huskies ending with a score of 178. The Rangers were able to fend off third-place Greenville, distancing themselves by 11 strokes off of Greenville’s total score of 193.
The team was certainly on its game; every golfer that participated for the Rangers finished with a score under 60. The team’s lowest scorer was senior Ally Ringler, and Ally shot an exceptional score of 38. Two other excellent outings came from senior Mandy Ehrlich and junior Maddie Knoor shooting respective scores of 43 and 47. Junior Taylor Baumgardner, senior Haisley Turnquist, and senior Kaitlyn Bethel rounded out the scoring for the Rangers. Taylor ended with a 54, Haisley ended with a 55, and Kaitlyn ended with a 58.
After another impressive performance from the team, it has concluded all 9 of its events without falling once below second place. The girls are hoping to continue this impeccable feat and they will play next at the Belding Jamboree at Candlestone on September 23rd.
