Boys JV tennis team loses a tough game to East Grand Rapids
The Rangers took a rough loss yesterday to East Grand Rapids losing 9-1 but their score did not at all define how they played. The boys team over at East Grand Rapids is a great team and will give anyone they play trouble. The Rangers gave the Pioneers a hard time every match, but couldn’t come out on top.
The doubles team consisting of sophomore Nich Walls and Shalil Sewant played a great match going down early in the match but giving it everything they had to fight back to 5-5 in the first set. They ended up losing 7-5 7-5 but showed great fight against two great players from East Grand Rapids.
One of the best performances of the day goes to freshman Erik Hansen and Max Cooper. They came out hot from the beginning playing hard and really giving the Pioneers some trouble. Fighting for every point possible they came out on top even though they were playing together for the first time. They showed some great potential, and are looking forward to seeing what they can do.
The Rangers are looking forward to seeing the Pioneers September 30th for some revenge. They know they are capable of taking this team down and they will be working extra hard these next few weeks to make sure that happens.
They will stay at home this next match against Holland today September 19th trying to defend their home court. They are ready to go and are feeling confident about tonight’s match.
