What is your favorite part of being on the team?

“I love being with the girls every day. It is so cool to be able to go to practice and be with, what feels like, my second family. I also enjoy the amount of spirit this team has. We are always cheering for each other in both swim and school, which I think helps bring the team together even more.”

What is your most memorable race?

“I have two memorable races. The first would be when I swam the 500 freestyle my freshman year and went a 5:34.07 finishing 10th overall at Conference. My second most memorable race was at the FHC v. HCHS v. HUD meet this year. I swam the 100 freestyle with a goal of going under a minute and finished with a 58.63, which is a huge accomplishment of mine.”

How do you feel the season has gone so far?

“I think our season has gone very well so far. The freshman that have just joined the team are acclimating well to our crazy schedule and performing great at our meets. We have not had a meet against a team in our Conference yet, but when we do, I think we will do very well.”

Any advice for new swimmers?

“My advice to the new swimmers is to enjoy this crazy (yet amazing) sport while you can. All of a sudden, you blink your eyes, and you are jumping into the pool for the last first practice of your senior year. I also would advise them to walk into every meet and practice with an open mind because you never know what you can accomplish, even when you are feeling broken down and tired.”
