Mandy Ehrlich drives girls varsity golf to second-place finish at FHN Ernie Popiel Memorial
The girls varsity golf team achieved another second-place result when it took part in the FHN Ernie Popiel Memorial tournament yesterday. The Rangers trailed only one other school, and one Ranger golfer finished within the top 5 individual scores.
The girls shot a cumulative score of 379—placing them one spot behind FHN. Senior Mandy Ehrlich led the pack for the girls, shooting an 83 over 18 holes, and launching herself into the fourth spot of all individual scorers. Following behind Mandy was junior Maddie Knoor and senior Kaitlyn Bethel. Maddie finished with a 90, while Kaitlyn ended up shooting a 102. Rounding out the solid performances for the Rangers was junior Taylor Baumgardner with a 111 over the course of the tournament.
After dominant recent performances, the team did not fall under second place in any jamboree it participated in this season. Now, the team will set its sights on its next event: the OK White conference tournament, which will take place at North Kent Golf Course on Wednesday, October 2nd at 9:00 AM.
