FHC’s JV Volleyball team soundly defeats Lowell in two matches

On Thursday night, the FHC JV Volleyball team played against one of its biggest rivals: the Lowell Red Arrows. The Rangers beat them in two matches, both by a great margin. The whole team played very well last night, with everyone working together as one unit to take down the Red Arrows.

In the first match, the girls won 25-12. The middles, sophomores Julia Carlson, Gabby Partlo, and Lilly Harsevoort, all played fast and had quick reactions to blocking and getting to off-blocker-defense. Freshman Averie Zsachak also was very consistent in the setting position and was able to run a quick offense. Averie’s ability to track the ball allowed her to run various different plays to bring the Ranger offense more success.

FHC won the second match 25-14, crushing Lowell before they could get any dangerous points on the board. Sophomores Ava Wilberding, Sophia Galan, and Kylee Murawski —all in the outside hitter position—played excellent outside defense. On offense, the team did very well with placing the ball in the holes that opened up in Lowell’s defense.

The next event for the Rangers is on Tuesday, October 8th at home at 5:00 PM against Greenville.
