Girls varsity golf enters postseason with second-place finish at OK White conference tournament
The girls varsity golf team kicked off its postseason venture with a second-place finish at the conference tournament. The team achieved a collective score of 339, bringing it within 17 strokes of first place FHN: the Huskies finished at 322. Exceptional performances from the seniors drove the girls to the impressive standing they finished at.
The top scores from the Rangers came from seniors Ally Ringler and Mandy Ehrlich. Ally shot a 76, while Mandy finished with a score of 78 over the 18 holes. Following up Mandy, junior Maddie Knoor finished with an impressive score of 91, and junior Taylor Baumgardner ended with a 97. The other important performances from the team included junior Ava Metaj with a 94, and senior Kaitlyn Bethel concluded with 98 strokes.
The team will continue its season following this event, and the next outing for the Rangers will be on Wednesday, October 9th. This event will be the MHSAA Regionals and will take place at Egypt Valley, where the girls look to delve deeper into the postseason.
