The Ranger XC teams both take third at the Kent Ottawa County meet
The FHC Cross Country teams ran in the Kent Ottawa County Meet this past weekend. The girls team took third out of 14 teams, and the guys team took third out of 15 teams. It was a cold morning for running, but the brisk temperatures allowed the runners to push their pace without overheating.
Junior Whitney Currie did exceptionally well during this race, finishing first overall. She finished with a speedy time of 19:13.6, earning great points for her team. Senior Nicole Marco was the second-best runner for the Rangers, coming in with a time of 20:17.6. Trailing just behind Nicole was junior Emma Hansen, finishing with a time of 21:07.2.
For the boys team, senior Gabe Carlson took third place, finishing with a time of 16:35.2. Running behind Gabe was sophomore Sam Yeager, coming in with a time of 17:08.7. The third best runner for the boys team was junior Kyle James-Heer, who finished with a time of 17:21.9.
The next event for the Rangers is a conference meet at Riverside Park on Wednesday, October 16th. The girls team will start at 4:30 PM, and the boys team will start at 5:15 PM.
