Last night, the boys freshman basketball team beat Forest Hills Eastern by an astounding score of 61-40. Winning by 21, the team is off to a good start to the 2019/2020 season.
Three players in particular lead this team to victory. These players included freshmen Levi McKenzie, Owen Meyer, and Jake Koning. Since this team is not three separate teams like the year prior in middle school, they have the talent and drive to be one of the top teams in the conference throughout the entirety of this season.
Levi led the team in total points, scoring 14, while Jake led the team in assists. This suggests that these two players may well lead the team in these two categories throughout this season.
The next step for the team is the East Kentwood Falcons, who are consistently considered to be a top tier team in their league. Winning this game would largely impact the rest of their season as the players will have more confidence in themselves and their teammates around them. This game will take place on November 19 at 5:00 PM at East Kentwood.
